RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Fire destroyed a barn at N5008 County Road G in the Town of Lowell last night.

Shortly after 7:30 Beaver Dam Firefighters were dispatched for what at first was believed to be a fire in a living room, but arriving crews found a barn heavily involved in the fire.

Lack of a municipal water supply, cold conditions, and limited access to the barn presented challenges. An excavator was brought in to assist with extinguishing operations.

The barn was considered a total loss, but several nearby buildings were not damaged. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
