Fatal Accident in Waupaca County

WAUTOMA, Wis. (WAUH) – One driver was killed and another was injured when a passenger car, a truck, and a trailer collided in Waupaca County’s town of Fremont late yesterday morning.

According to Sheriff’s officials, the car was northbound on Old Highway 49 when it was struck by the truck that was heading east on U.S. Highway 10.

The car’s driver was trapped inside because of the crash. Fire personnel were able to extricate the driver and start life-saving measures, but the motorist died at the scene. The truck driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Names were not released. The accident was reported at 10:31 a.m.
