Hustisford Man Suspected of Setting Bar Fire

RIPON, Wis. (WRPN) – A 42-year-old Hustisford man is facing arson charges for allegedly setting fire to Danny Boys Bar in downtown Horicon Sunday night.

According to a press release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call reported the fire at 315 East Lake Street shortly after 9 p.m. The bar was open with patrons inside, and due to the fire, an upstairs tenant had to be rescued from the roof.

Seven fire departments responded and extinguished the fire and safely evacuated everyone from the building. Sheriff’s detectives and Horicon Police investigated the fire, which led them to Kevin Lentz who was subsequently arrested and booked into the Dodge County Jail.

Charges referred against him include arson, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, and criminal damage to property.

According to the Horicon Fire Department, the building sustained significant smoke damage, but a prompt response prevented further loss. No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported.
