Pedestrian Killed In Waupaca County Accident

WAUTOMA, Wis. (WAUH) – The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office handled a fatal accident involving a pedestrian and SUV.

The Sheriff’s Communications Center received a report at 5:20 Saturday afternoon of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on County Highway Q near Mary Street.

Law enforcement and emergency medical personnel initiated life-saving measures on the pedestrian. The County Medical Examiner’s Office pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Investigators say the SUV was heading west on County Highway Q. As it passed Mary Street, it struck a pedestrian in the road. The driver stopped and remained at the scene. The motorist wasn’t hurt and cooperated with law enforcement.

Names were not released. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the State Patrol, Waupaca Fire Department, the Waupaca County Highway Department, and Gold Cross Ambulance Service.
