RIPON, Wis (WRPN)-For two men returning to the scene of a crime in Fond du Lac County led to their capture.

Late Wednesday night they were in a vehicle a Sheriff’s deputy tried to pull over in the Village of Rosendale. The 28-year-old driver was driving without a driver’s license.  He and his 23-year-old passenger fled from the scene.

Later a deputy located their vehicle in a ditch at the intersection of State Highway 23 and Rose-Eld Road. A search was begun for them. While waiting for a tow truck to arrive, a State Trooper saw a different vehicle on County Highway KK near Highway 23 with the driver and his passenger in it.

The vehicle drove by the crash scene and deputies stopped it. It was being driven by a 24-year-old woman. The two men in it admitted to being occupants in the original suspect vehicle and were taken into custody.

A significant amount of illegal narcotics was found in the woman’s vehicle. Both men were on parole from Brown County. They are now facing additional charges stemming from the pursuit and drugs found in the second vehicle. The woman is also facing drug charges and was cited for traffic violations.
