WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- A Mustang speeding on Interstate-41 at over 140 miles per hour was pulled over by Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputies Friday night.

Deputies were monitoring traffic on I-41 southbound near Nee-Vin Road around 9 p.m. when a deputy observed a Mustang speeding at 143 miles an hour. That’s double the posted 70 mile an hour speed limit.

Citations for reckless driving and speeding for going that fast will cost the driver $1,515. Photos of the speed registered on the deputy’s radar, as well as the pulled-over Mustang were posted on the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

The post also termed the cited driver’s decision to go that fast as, “Dangerous, Dumb. Just plain ridiculous. Period.”
