RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Dodge County Sheriff’s officials have identified the two drivers involved in a fatal collision Thursday morning.

The crash occurred just before 6 am on County Highway A north of Breezy Point Road in the town of Trenton. Forty-six-year-old Christopher Murphy of Portage was heading south in his sedan and crossed into the northbound lane striking an SUV.

The driver of the SUV, 35-year-old Samantha Pavelka of Beaver Dam, was taken to Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam. She died after lifesaving attempts were unsuccessful. Murphy was flown to Aurora Summit Hospital where he is in critical condition.
