Ripon Man Charged in Hatchet Attack in Court

RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- The 34-year-old Ripon man suspected of trying to kill a Fond du Lac woman with a hatchet waived his preliminary hearing Thursday. Hayden Daffinson will be arraigned on the eight felony charges he faces on September 19^th in Fond du Lac County Court.

According to the criminal complaint the 38-year-old victim had broken up with Daffinson but had allowed him back in her residence to retrieve his personal property. That is when he attacked her. She is still hospitalized.

Daffinson is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on a $5 million cash bond. He’s charged with attempted first degree intentional homicide, first-degree sexual assault, two counts of Mayhem, first-degree reckless injury, aggravated battery, felony intimidation of a victim, and false imprisonment.
