Trump’s Economy Is A Failure (Hour 1)

April 30, 2025

Pat Kreitlow of the conveniently-named morning drive time radio program Mornings with Pat Kreitlow has made the migration with us to our new time of 2-4! We start off with a story from Fox News about our GDP, which is declining for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The economy is sliding so far that not even Fox News hosts can try to spin it in a positive manner. On the other hand, Trump himself can’t seem to stop lying and making excuses.

Ron Johnson’s Conspiracy Spiral (Hour 1)

April 22, 2025

Well, here we are again, right were we started. The state legislature is taking up a bill to expand Medicaid to new moms for up to a year. We don't want to repeat ourselves, but this bill is wildly popular and bipartisan, so what does it say about Robin Vos when he won't even bring it up for a vote? And have you seen Kristi Noem's purse? It was stolen this weekend and packed with very unique items. We then welcome the host of the new Mornings With Pat Kreitlow, Mr. Pat Kreitlow. We're talking about the very topical concerns of US Senator Ron Johnson.

Civic Media Spotlight for the Weekend of April 12th & 13th (Hour 2)

April 12, 2025

First up this hour, Earl shares the story of the upcoming annual Special Needs Prom coming up at Washington High School on the Earl Ingram Show. The event is one of the most anticipated events of the year. This year, they are turning the cafeteria into a stunning Emerald City. In its 22nd year, this beloved occasion promotes inclusion and provides a catered dinner, elegant attire, and an evening filled with unforgettable happiness for students with special needs.

After that, John and Gordy in the Morning welcome back Mike McCabe to talk with the show about Byron Kilbourn, a Wisconsin politician from the 1800s, and the parallels between him and  Elon Musk with corruption and money in politics.

Next, UpNorthNews Radio with Pat Kreitlow talks rural healthcare. Even as more rural hospitals close and corporate medicine shrinks its local footprints, a group in the Chippewa Valley believes the time has come to return to a hospital model based on local, nonprofit, independent ownership. If they succeed in replacing hospitals that closed last year in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls, will it be a blueprint for restoring healthcare options around the rest of the state?

And last but not least, Dan Shafer joins the Maggie Daun Show to discuss the breaking news that Ben Wikler will not be re-running for WI Democrats chair. Dan provides some background on Wikler and discusses possible names that could run for the position.

Trump Revokes Student Visas And Erases Black History (Hour 1)

April 8, 2025

This Tuesday, Pat Kreitlow of UpNorthNews Radio returns to gather up the latest news. One of the biggest stories both state- and nationwide is the Trump administration’s immediate revocation of many student visas. Allegedly, these revocations have nothing to do with protest participation or “terrorist” affiliation, leaving only naked racism as the culprit. This same situation is playing out at universities around America.

Big changes are coming in the Civic Media lineup! Stay tuned for more details, but on or around April 23rd, this will be the new schedule:

  • 6-9 - Mornings with Pat Kreitlow, powered by UpNorthNews
  • 9-11 - Matenaer on Air with Jane and Greg
  • 11-2 - Thom Hartman Program
  • 2-4 - Todd Allbaugh Show
  • 4-6 - Maggie Daun Show
  • 6-8 - Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba

This schedule may vary on some stations, so pay attention to your local listings.

At the bottom of the hour, Todd shares a report from Anderson Cooper on the Trump administration’s continued erasure of American history. The latest scandal involves removing Harriet Tubman and references to slavery from the Underground Railroad website, among other dark spots in our country’s past.
