Weekly Best of Dom Salvia Show for Oct 26

October 26, 2024

Catch up on the best segments from this week of the Dom Salvia Show!

First, from Monday's second hour, The Enablers Bear Responsibility:
Mary Trump, niece of Donald, compiled a list of 13 reasons that disqualify the 45th POTUS from office ever again. The list, we should note, spans only the past 2 weeks. We dig into some of the lowlights. Plus- don't call it weaving!

Then, a segment from Thursday's second hour: Let's see what we can work out- together. Bill Press, podcaster, pundit, and political prognosticator, joins Dom and Earl to check in on the presidential race. He sees Harris' building of a broad coalition of political allies as an extremely powerful path forward.

Wrapping up with the last two segments from Wednesday's second hour: Qualified, Experienced, Personable. We began the show with an hour diving into all the reason's Trump is unfit for the office of President. Including testimonial from his former Chief of Staff and Marine General John Kelly. You can listen to that full interview, conducted by the New York Times, here. But in these two segments, we break down why we believe that Kamala Harris will win.

Let’s see what we can work out- together. (Hour 2)

October 24, 2024

Earl Ingram co-hosts with Dom.

Bill Press, podcaster, pundit, and political prognosticator, joins Dom and Earl to check in on the presidential race. He sees Harris' building of a broad coalition of political allies as an extremely powerful path forward. Harris united Bernie Sanders and Liz Cheney, hopefully bringing their respective supporters under the same tent. Some to the far left dislike this strategy, seeing it as abandonment. And so many more see this is as the answer to what we do on November 6th and January 7th. We must find a way to re-unite and see what we can work out- together.

Also, some more analysis of Harris' town hall last night. She presented policy, she showcased her ability to answer tough questions, and she highlighted the threat posed by her opponent. And for many, it still wasn't enough. Bill Press comments on this phenomenon of Harris' expectation for flawlessness in the face of Trump's lawlessness: obscene, absurd, and frustrating.

If you still need more reasons to vote for Harris and convince your loved ones to do so as well, make sure to tune in tomorrow for a deep dive into her policies.

Keeping an eye on it all (Hour 1)

October 24, 2024

Earl Ingram co-hosts with Dom.

Dom and Earl discuss some of the expectations for Election Day, November 5th. This election will likely have record high voter turnout. And with it, both major parties brace for shenanigans. With under a dozen days left until the election, both major parties are organizing teams of poll watchers. Poll watchers present a bit of a tricky situation. They may increase transparency and civic engagement. And they can lead to voter intimidation and suppression.

Kamala Harris participated in a CNN town hall last night. She hammered Trump on his absence from the event and his fascistic ambitions.

I Shouldn’t Have To Say That… (Hour 1)

October 8, 2024

Good good morning everyone! Welcome to Tuesday and welcome to the show. We're kicking things off with California Landowner Eric Hovde who, despite his best efforts has very little to say about Hurricane Helene and/or FEMA. Luckily, we have leaders who want to lead with the truth, leaders such as North Carolina Congressman Jeff Jackson. We round out the hour with a visit from our lead in and friend, Earl Ingram, host of The Earl Ingram Show on Civic Media. We're discussing his style of talk radio as well as President Biden's visit to Milwaukee to tackle the issue of lead pipes in our homes.

Civic Media Spotlight for Weekend of October 5th & 6th (Hour 1)

October 5, 2024

First, Earl expresses his frustration and confusion over the number of everyday union workers who are supporting Donald Trump. He goes over who the union's have historically voted for and points out the clear reasons why voting for Trump is anti union.

Then, education author Elizabeth Berkshire shares how voters in battleground states like Wisconsin are pushing back against efforts to weaken or privatize our public schools. And we’ll hear from Harris-Walz battleground director Dan Kanninen about the path to victory in his home state of Wisconsin.

After that, Leigh McGowan aka IAmPoliticsGirl joins the show to talk about her book "A Return To Common Sense", as well as the landscape over the next 36 days on Matenaer On Air.

The hour wraps with Mandy Kimes, Executive Director of the Ripon Area Chamber of Commerce, talking with Todd about the history of the Little White Schoolhouse. One particularly fun story revolves around a community baseball game with team names of Democrats vs Republicans to raise money. The game even ended in a tie!

A Post-Shame Society (Hour 2)

September 26, 2024

New York City's mayor, Eric Adams, spoke out today about the newly unsealed federal indictment against him. Adams faces charges related to soliciting and accepting financial contributions from foreign nationals in exchange for favors as well as stealing public funds. Meanwhile, Louisiana Congressman Clay Higgins sets new lows for behavior and new highs for how much racism the Republican party tolerates with comments about Haiti and Haitian immigrants. Mayor Adams is a Democratic- no Democratic leaders have denounced the investigations or indictments against Adams. Higgins is a Republican- and the Republican Speaker of the House was quick to defend his fellow Louisianan. The contrast forces us to ask: are Republicans living in a post-shame society? A caller suggests with his behavior that perhaps we are...

“A Philosophical Difference” (Hour 1)

September 26, 2024

Pat Krietlow, Civic Media radio host of Up North News, joins Dom to talk ballot drop boxes in Wausau. He kicks off our conversation for the hour on Wausau's mayor Doug Diny removing a ballot drop box. Pat's comments on the Diny's anti-democratic criming made it all the way to the Raw Story, so we asked him for a few more words of wisdom.

Earl Ingram Jr. joins us at the bottom of the hour to continue the conversation. Callers weigh in on what consequences Mayor Diny should face. One particularly good recommendation: a public apology picnic.

They’re saying the quiet part out loud again (Hour 2)

September 19, 2024

A Heritage Foundation advisor claims that Haiti would be economically better off if they had remained colonized- that the Black population would remain enslaved- by the French for an extra few decades.

In a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on hate crimes, John Kennedy verbally assaulted the executive director of the Arab American Institute. Senator Kennedy opened his questioning of Ms. Berry by stating in a somewhat questioning tone "you support Hamas do you not?". He proceeded to lie to her face about what she had said, talk over her, and tar her with disgusting anti-Arab language. It's abhorrent and unacceptable.
