Will the Serious Leaders Please Stand Up (Hour 1)
We start the show summarizing an Axios article about the three existential crisis making themselves very down this summer: rising temperature, nuclear bombs and the unknown capabilities of AI. For all three of these, it will require “serious work by serious people” - but when you look at what’s happening in DC… are we sure the US is providing that?
Then Dan Shafer of The Recombobulation Area joins to talk who will run against Tammy Baldwin for Senate now that Tom Tiffany has bowed out, the GOP silence on Milwaukee County passing its new sales tax and setting expectations for the new Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Who Will Take On Trump?
Do you believe that the US Supreme Court is doing a good job? Approval ratings have been on the rise according to the Marquette University Law School poll.
After that, we enter the Recombobulation Area with Dan Shafer to discuss the upcoming Republican primary debate. Will any of them turn on Donald Trump?
Shenanigans!
The results are in for yesterday’s special election for the 8th Senate District. Also, Michigan has charged the 16 2020 fraudulent electors in their state. Will Wisconsin do the same? Wil is getting set to slide into Attorney General Josh Kaul’s DMs.
Today, we unveil the new intro for The Recombobulation Area and Dan Shafer helps us unravel these election shenanigans.
Enough Blame to Share (Hour 1)
Young Americans are piling the blame for their student debt balances on conservatives, according to a poll by Generation Lab provided exclusively to Axios. But who is to blame the crisis in the first place? Tens of millions of borrowers in the U.S. collectively owe more than $1 trillion, can we really blame that kind of mountain of debt all on the personal responsibility of individuals making bad choices?
Then we welcome Dan Shafer for our weekly segment where we Recombobulate. This week, we talk about the potential 794 tear down, the special special elections in Assembly District 24, and your chance to go to the Cooperage on Friday July 21st and relive the glory of the Bucks championship.
Two Sides Of the MKE Sales Tax Coin
Last night, Milwaukee approved a new 2% local sales tax to shore up low funding at the state level. Do you think this was a good move? Dan Shafer from The Recombobulation Area and State Rep. Ryan Clancy give us their observations and opinions.
Americans’ Confidence in Higher Education Down (Hour 1)
A new Gallup Poll shows that Americans’ confidence in higher education has fallen to 36%, sharply lower than in two prior readings in 2015 (57%) and 2018 (48%). In addition to the 17% of U.S. adults who have “a great deal” and 19% “quite a lot” of confidence, 40% have “some” and 22% “very little” confidence. We ask how your feeling about higher education have changed over time and whether or not the economic value is still really there.
Then Dan Shafer is back to Recombobulate over the sales tax vote for Milwaukee and reflect on Gov. Evers signing the budget last week.
Tuesday Recombobulation (Hour 1)

Then we kick off our new weekly segment with Dan Shafer: Tuesday Recombobulation.
