Test Standards and Testing Patience (2nd Hour)
Wisconsin school students have been subjected to a carousel of different standardized tests and ever-changing expectations for test scores. But all the pressure on students and teachers to raise the bar higher and higher is coming without the resources required to meet those demands. It’s almost as if a certain group of politicians is purposely short-changing our public schools in order to support the exploding taxpayer costs for private school vouchers.

The Day The Music Died.
Today is the "Day The Music Died", the day The Big Bopper, Richie Valens, and Buddy Holly all died in a plane crash after a show in Green Bay. Don McLean wrote and recorded the song "American Pie" as a tribute to the loss of lives on that day. Then Civic Media Meteorologist Brittney Merlot tells us what to expect this week. Snow is in the forecast, but it looks like we'll avoid really cold temperatures. We also find out that John has proclaimed it to be "The Month of Maino." We're not sure what that means and we may be a bit scared.

Our week-in-review panel looks at the whirlwind that accompanied the uncertainty of whether the new administration could actually get away with cutting a massive amount of government services for Americans. The bottom line: Dealing with this president is going to require work—work to fact-check, work to challenge, work to maintain a stable government… but as we learned, it works.
