Prof. Lowell Barrington
Trump’s Naïve Arrogance and the Ukraine Conflict
Maggie delves into the complexities of Donald Trump’s approach to the Ukraine-Russia conflict with Prof. Lowell Barrington, Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Marquette University. Maggie and Barrington expose Trump's naive belief in his own infallibility and its potential consequences. Barrington also critiques Trump’s apparent willingness to echo Vladimir Putin’s narratives, which raises serious concerns about the implications for U.S. national security. Barrington underscores the need for nuanced leadership in ceasefire negotiations—something he argues Trump does not possess. Plus, Judge Chris Taylor, new candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, shares her motivations for running and outlines her judicial philosophy. Maggie wraps up with a powerful call to defend democratic values in the face of mounting political challenges and emphasizes the importance of vigilance and civic engagement.

Might Equals Right
Maggie begins this Monday by speaking to Associate Prof. Lowell Barrington from Marquette University. Friday's Oval office meeting between Trump and Zelensky has unified Europe. It's no longer about getting a seat at the table. It's about building a whole new table. Donald Trump is shifting democracy but to what end? Maggie also discusses the budget cuts. Republican lawmakers are saying one thing, but Maggie gives us with a little math lesson. Trust the numbers...
Here is a letter that you can use to send to your representatives:
Dear [Mr. VanOrden, Steil, Grothman, Fitzgerald, Weid, Tiffany, and Mr. Johnson],
I am confused by the basic math. You say that the budget you voted for “did not include any cuts to specific programs” and that “anyone saying otherwise is a liar.” But you are the liar: you know that because the budget bill requires the House Energy & Commerce Committee to cut $880 billion, which won’t come close to the trillions needed to fund the new tax cuts for billionaires, and because the Committee only oversees $200 billion in non-Medicaid spending, this means that even if you zeroed out all other Energy & Commerce Committee spending, which is impossible, you would still need to cut $680 billion from Medicaid. Stop hiding behind semantics and legislative drafting sleight of hand.. Do your homework and stand up for working Wisconsites.
Btw, do you receive any benefits that are on the chopping block? I didn’t think so. Shame on you.
