Pete says a chocolate cake donut with white frosting and Konrad says a Long John donut with chocolate frosting and sprinkles. Then Civic Media's sports reporter Mike Clemens joins the show. Mike talks about the Brewers recent success, Packers OTAs, and Mikes favorite donut.

Donuts to Dollars (Hour 3)
It’s National Donut Day, so we take a look around our communities to talk about who’s got the good ones. We’ll discuss how a positive new jobs report masks the harm that’s being done to the long-term health of government services—just look at what Elon Musk did to the dumpster fire formerly known as Twitter. And Civic Media’s Mike Clemens previews the weekend in sports, including the red-hot Milwaukee Brewers returning for the start of a long homestand.

Medicaid Myths and Billionaire Brawls
In this hour, Maggie unpacks the real-world consequences of the Republican-led “big brutal bill” with guest William Parke-Sutherland from Kids Forward. Together, they expose the false zero-sum narrative in public policy—the idea that helping marginalized communities somehow hurts others. Parke-Sutherland warns that proposed Medicaid cuts won’t save money—they’ll raise costs for everyone in Wisconsin through higher premiums and reduced services. Meanwhile, the surreal feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump escalates, with Musk teasing the release of damaging photos. Maggie warns us to keeps the focus on the MAGA regime’s policies and their lasting harm to working families and the middle class.

We have some breaking news: former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is officially signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It appears he is not following the exact trajectory of Brett Favre. We talk with Civic Media Sports Reporter Mike Clemens at the bottom of the hour with more commentary on the future of both Rodgers and the Packers.
In political news, the US Supreme Court made a few important rulings this morning. Firstly, our highest court unanimously decided to drop Mexico’s lawsuit against the US gun industry. However, they did not sign the blank check that gun manufacturers asked for, leaving the door open for future accountability. Another unanimous decision allows for workers to more easily sue for “reverse discrimination,” where they feel they have been denied employment or promotion due to not being a minority.
We finish up this hour by covering the latest in President Trump and Elon Musk’s public feud.

On CBS and Maintaining Journalistic Integrity (Hour 1)
After a brief update on some expected severe weather around the state this evening, we are joined by Civic Media Sports Reporter Mike Clemens! Mike was on the scene in Green Bay for the NFL draft last weekend, so he walks us through the biggest news of the event.
In other sports news, the Milwaukee Bucks have confirmed that Damian Lillard is out with another injury after tearing his left Achilles tendon. This injury will likely prevent him from playing through most or all of next season.
As we mentioned on the show previously, Bill Owens has resigned after 24 years as Executive Producer of 60 Minutes on CBS. At the end of yesterday’s show, Scott Pelley shared some refreshingly blunt and candid comments about how this situation occurred. After pressure from CBS’s parent company Paramount, Owens felt he had lost journalistic independence and resigned to maintain integrity.
The reason for Paramount’s apparent interference is likely a potential merger of major media companies that the Trump administration would have to approve. Previously, CBS drew criticism from the president as he falsely claimed that 60 Minutes edited an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris in a misleading manner. Ultimately, President Trump’s attacks on news companies are eerily similar to actions taken by dictators like Nayib Bukele in other countries.

The Draft Begins with Mike Clemens and Kevin O’Connor (Hour 1)
Today marks the beginning of the NFL draft in Green Bay! Civic Media’s brilliant Sports Reporter Mike Clemens is on the scene, and he calls in to paint us a picture of the event preparations. We also listen to a report from our very own Teri Barr on the draft.
While they don’t always come out on top, the Green Bay Packers have always led the NFL in terms of culture. The great Vince Lombardi set an incredible example of acceptance and inclusion by demanding respect and equality for all of his players, no matter their race or sexuality.
At the bottom of the hour, Todd’s old broadcast partner Kevin O’Connor (unfortunately a Bears fan) returns to talk about Packers and Bears draft booms and busts over the years.
