Jimmie Kaska
High School NIL Deals and Clever Car Cleaning (Hour 2)
In today’s second hour, Todd is joined by Civic Media Sports Director Jimmie Kaska for an update on the latest rule changes in Wisconsin high school sports. The biggest change that most people are aware of is the introduction of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deals to our high schools. We are one of the last states to adopt NIL at the high school level. However, high school deals will look very different from the huge sponsorships we see at the college level. Jimmie walks us through the differences, from who is eligible to be sponsored to how large those sponsorships can be.
At the bottom of the hour, we talk about late Spring cleaning. Todd asks us What’s Worse: cleaning out the garage or cleaning out the car? We take your calls and texts on which chore is more daunting.

More Money in High School Sports (Hour 2)
The latest trend in sports isn’t on the field or the court. It’s Name Image Licensing (NIL) deals that allow student athletes to make money through endorsement deals without jeopardizing their amateur status. The NCAA has had it for the past few years and now the WIAA is going down that road with high school sports. We’ll talk to Civic Media’s Jimmie Kaska about the opportunities and the risks that come with mixing business cash with young people trying to excel in athletics and get an education.

The conversation shifts to the Milwaukee Bucks' future, contemplating Giannis’ role in the team's rebuilding phase. Wrapping up, Rökker fills in for Teri Barr, for Barr Band Friday Nite. Rökker talks Atwood Fest bands like Lower Fifth and Jeremiah Jams Band.

Today we're joined by Civic Media's very own Wisconsin sports expert Jimmie Kaska. Jimmy brings us an update on the changes coming to high school athletics. Mondays With Matt: On The Passing Of Pope Francis (Hour 1)
This morning, Pope Francis passed away. Todd believes that this Pope was one of the greatest in modern history due to his humility and intentional reflection of Christ’s teachings over religious dogma. Regardless of one’s religion, Pope Francis’s focus on acceptance was admirable.
Today, our friend Matt Flynn joins us to talk about the Pope’s impact on Catholicism. In addition to serving as the Chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, Matt is an attorney, and he represented Milwaukee’s Roman Catholic Archdiocese for many years. In this position, he had a unique vantage point on the Catholic sexual abuse scandal. He shares details good and bad in his book, Confessions of a Church Lawyer: In Defense of Christianity.
We also ask Matt’s opinion on continuing developments in the Trump administration’s illegal deportations. What does this mean for the future of due process in America?
At the bottom of the hour, Civic Media Sports Director Jimmie Kaska joins us to discuss some big changes coming to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA). Once again, Name, Image and Likeness deals are potentially on the table for high school students. Wisconsin is the last state to allow these NIL deals in high school, and Jimmie expects the amendment to pass this time.

“Sprinter” Sports- Free Throws and Face Offs
Class, welcome to sprinter- that delightful damp windy transition from winter to spring. Chad, host of the WXCO morning show and Civic Media sports broadcaster and Jimmie, Civic Media sports editor, have been two of our favorites for this Friday segment.
