DeLyla “Dee” Mae Hintz, age 79, of Fifield, died on Friday July 25, 2025, at her home. She was born on February 22, 1946, in Prentice, the daughter of Albert and Neadria (Rice) Dering. Her early life and schooling were in Prentice. On July 11, 1964, she married James Hintz in Prentice. The couple moved to Fifield where DeLyla was a homemaker and owned and operated a craft business. She also worked for St. Croix Fishing Rods and was a cook for the Park Falls School District. DeLyla was a member of the Glidden Stitchers, was a master gardener and loved all forms of crafts and teaching crafting. She was well known for her handmade greeting cards and talent. DeLyla loved to spend time with her family and friends. Dee’s message to family and friends is Proverbs 3:5-6; 1 Peter 5:10 and “God is Love”
She is survived by her husband Jim of Fifield, (5)children: Todd (Priscilla) Hintz of Mason, Tami (Ron) Johnson of Anthem, AZ, Tina (Dan) Levra of Butternut, Troy (Laurie) Hintz of Augusta, Trent (Tessa) Hintz of Medford, (10)grandchildren, (7)great-grandchildren, her brothers Gilbert “Gib” Dering of Wausau & Rodney “Rod” (Mary Jane) Dering of Wausau, and her sister Mary (Rick) Konkol of Phillips. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law Charlene Dering.
Funeral services will be held at Maranatha Baptist Church in Phillips on Saturday August 2, 2025, at 12:00pm. Rev. Christian Markel will officiate.
A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00am until the hour of the service.
Interment will take place at Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield.
