Sentencing in Heroin Overdose Death

RIPON, Wis (WRPN)-A 45-year-old Fond du Lac man who supplied a fatal dose of heroin to a Fond du Lac woman has been sentenced to 12 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision.

Omar Jabbar Simpson was sentenced in Fond du Lac County Court Friday for first-degree reckless homicide delivering drugs. His sentence is consecutive to time he is serving on other crimes.

According to the criminal complaint the victim was found dead in her bedroom on March 5th of 2022. An autopsy by the County Medical Examiner found the cause of death to be cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine toxicity.

In May of 2023 Simpson was sentenced to 3 years in prison and 3 years of extended supervision on a heroin trafficking charge in Fond du Lac County court. Simpson is currently serving time at Stanley Correctional Institution.
