The ambulance service fund was reported to the members of the Richland County Executive & Finance Standing Committee at last night’s (Monday) meeting. The beginning balance as of December 31, 2025 was $108,793. The total revenue ending balance was $1,292,089. The total expenses were $1,319,457 for an ending balance of $81,426.

On November 21, the County was notified that the Ambulance Services staff had requested a

Petition requesting a union election. Thus far, the county has spent $6,162 on legal fees through the end of January 2026. Due to these expenses not being budgeted, starting in 2026 these expenses will be taken out of Fund 510, which is the Ambulance Service Fund.

Every four years, State Statute requires the County Board to establish the total annual compensation for elected officials. This is to be set prior to the filing of nominations papers. Elections for the Coroner, Sheriff and Clerk of Circuit are in the fall of 2026. Nominations papers can be circulated beginning April 15.

The County Board will need to establish the compensation for these offices before then.
