An Olympic competitor has ties to Richland Center. Luci Anderson, the niece of Richland County’s Partners for Prevention Project Manager, Betsy Roesler, and Richland Hospital & Clinics CEO, Bruce Roesler, will be representing the U.S. in biathlon at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

Luci grew up skiing through local trails in Minnesota and became a standout Nordic skier. She was #2 in the state during her senior year at Minneapolis Armstrong High School and went on to earn both a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in biotechnology from the University of New Hampshire where she skied Division I Nordic Skiing all five years.

While at UNH, she was a two-time team captain, three-time All-East First Team selection, and achieved nine collegiate podium finishes, including six first-place wins.

Luci only recently transitioned to biathlon, making her IBU Cup debut in 2024 and her World Cup debut in 2025, culminating in her selection for the U.S. Olympic Biathlon Team.

For her family, Luci’s journey is a source of pride and inspiration. Having a family member reach the Olympics is a huge moment.
