Lafayette County Sheriff Reg Gill says a deputy that arrived at the burning home in the Town of Shullsburg Tuesday morning couldn’t get inside due to flames and smoke.
Responding fire crews also encountered flames too intense for them to enter safely.
Once the fire was contained, firefighters found the two victims dead inside a bedroom. Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
