A two-vehicle head-on crash just past midnight New Year’s Day resulted in injury to one of the drivers. The Grant County Communication Center was notified of the crash on Highway 133 near James Drive in the Township of Boscobel. Along with deputies from the Sheriff’s Office, Boscobel Police Department, Boscobel Fire Department, and Boscobel EMS were dispatched to the scene.

During the investigation, officers learned Tucker Christianson, 17 of rural Boscobel, was traveling eastbound on Highway 133. Another vehicle being operated by an unknown driver, crossed into Christianson’s lane of travel, and struck his vehicle on the driver’s side front quarter panel. Christianson’s vehicle came to rest in the south ditch, and the other vehicle came to rest sideways in the eastbound lane.

When emergency services arrived on scene, the operator of the second vehicle had fled the scene. Tucker Christianson had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Boscobel Fire Department and he was transported to Gundersen Boscobel Area Health Care in Boscobel, by Boscobel EMS, for treatment of suspected minor injuries.

After further investigation, it was determined Westlee Graser, 37 of Boscobel, was the owner of the second vehicle. Graser has been issued a citation for vehicle owner’s liability, and the case remains under investigation.
