Richland Center rolls to victory over Riverdale in Girls Basketball

RICHLAND CENTER, WIS. (WRCO / WRCE) The Richland Center girls basketball team won a non-conference game at Riverdale 44-26 on Monday night. The Hornets went on a 10-0 run late in the first half and led 18-13 at the break.   The lead continued to grow in the 2nd half as they took advantage of turnovers and made 4 three point baskets for the game. 

Ellavy Weiss led all scorers with 12 points, while Ella Clements totaled 10, Kylie Burns had 9, Addie Board totaled 7, Jori Schultz scored 4, and Taylor Wertz had 2 points. The Hornets were 15 of 20 from the line.

Riverdale was led in scoring by Bailey Harris and Jocelyn Adams each 5, Abby Tisdale, Megan Kruel, Allie Goplin, and Lily Barr all had 3 points, Haley Schneider scored 2, and Mallory and Kaitlyn Meiss both had 1 point. The Chieftains made 3 three pointers, and they went 7 for 21 from the line.

Riverdale won the JV game played earlier over the visiting Hornets.
Richland Center is now 2-6 on the season after the 44-26 win over Riverdale. The Chieftains fell to 5-4 with the loss.  They are off until January 2nd when they play La Farge. The Hornets will play at Highland tonight to close out the first stretch of games before the Holiday break.
