
MUSCODA, WIS. (WRCO / WRCE) Mineral Point won an SWAL girls basketball game at Riverdale on Friday night. Both teams are now 2-2 in the conference after last nights 63-30 win for the Pointers. The game turned late in the first half when Mineral Point went on a 9-0 run and led 29-15 at halftime. Nine of the ten Mineral Point players on the roster hit the scoring column for first year head coach Merrill Brunson.
Riverdale was led in scoring by Macy McCay and Bailey Harris who each netted 8 points. Jocelyn Adams had 5, while Mallory Miess, Kaitlyn Miess, Megan Kruel, and Ava Kratzenberg all had 2, and Allie Goplin scored 1. The Chieftains did not make a 3 pointer and they went 15 for 32 from the free throw line.
The Pointers were paced by Jadyn Schultz with 14, Sophie Miller and Ava Ingwell both had 11. They made 8 three pointers and went 11 for 17 from the line.
Mineral Point won the JV game 41-28 over the Chieftains.
Following the 63-30 Varsity win, Mineral Point is now 3-4 overall. They will play at Argyle on Tuesday night. Riverdale is 5-3 and they will host Richland Center for a makeup game on Monday night.
