Richland County home damaged by fire on Sunday evening
RICHLAND COUNTY, WIS. (WRCO / WRCE) A Richland County home was damaged by fire Sunday evening. The Richland Center Fire Department was paged to 22128 County Highway Double D for the report of a house fire. The residents of the home had returned home to find the main level of their home had burned. Upon the arrival of Fire units, personnel found the fire was out but had severely damaged the main level of the home with heat and smoke damage. Two dogs also perished in the fire.
Three fire units and 20 firefighters responded and were on scene for about an hour. No injuries were reported. The Richland Center Fire Department was assisted by the Richland County Sheriffs Department.
Fire Chief Scott Gald reminds everyone to make sure your smoke detectors and Carbon Monoxide Detectors are in working order and that they have a 10-year life cycle and need to be changed out with new detectors. Also make sure all exhaust pipes on your home are clear of snow and ice with the wintery conditions we have been having. Also anyone with a fire hydrant on their property are asked to please shovel around the hydrant at least three feet in each direction for the fire departments so that the fire department can access them easily in an emergency.
