
BARABOO, Wis. (WRPQ) – On Thursday at approximately 8 p.m., the Baraboo Police Department was notified of threats of violence between two high school students. The threats mentioned one student bringing a firearm to school to use against the other.
The Baraboo Police Department contacted both individuals. The
investigation determined that neither student had access to a firearm or the means to carry out the threats. This was an isolated incident between two students.
The Baraboo Police Department contacted the Baraboo School District to notify them of the information received. Through collaboration with the school district, and swift action taken by both entities, the Baraboo Police Department was comfortable that there were no safety concerns regarding school being held today.
The Baraboo Police Department provided additional school patrol this morning as an added safety measure.
Baraboo Police Chief Carloini said, “The safety of our students and community is our top priority. We will continue working closely with the Baraboo School District to ensure our schools remain safe places to learn.”
This matter is being referred to Sauk County Youth Justice Services.
