2025-26 Richland School District budget presented

RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. (WRCO / WRCE) – The budget for 2025-26 was presented by Richland School District Business Official, Jon Bosworth, at Monday night’s annual meeting.

The budget is showing a deficit at this time of $771,000. The proposed tax levy is $10.7 million with a mill rate of $8.60 per $1,000 of property value. Bosworth also explained that the school voucher portion of the budget which the district collects and is given to the state to disburse increased by about $300,000 to $1.2 million. Those in attendance approved a tax levy in the amount of $8,419,802 for the purpose of paying necessary expenses to operate and maintain the schools of the district during the 2025-26 school year. 

Included in the amount is $183,445 for principal and interest payments on District debt service within the revenue limit. A tax in the amount of $2,193,041 for referendum approved debt service. And a tax in the amount of  $120,000.00 for the community service fund.

In other action the board approved: reimbursement for board members; the sale of district property not being used by the district; the ability to attain a short term loan when necessary; to purchase real property to be used by the district; and to lease property.

The next annual meeting of the Richland School District will be held Oct. 21, 2026.
