The Richland District shows a gain of students, other info from Board of Education Meeting
RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. (WRCO / WRCE) – District Administrator Steve Board reported the third Friday numbers to the Board of Education at Wednesday’s meeting.
The projected number of students was projected to be 1,105 for a decline of 45 students. The final third Friday count was actually 1,174 students for an increase of 69 students. What helped was open enrollment. Last year the difference between open enrollment in and out the district was minus 155 students last year.
This year, the difference is minus 133. This means that the district is gaining students back. The board also approved two open enrollment IN applications and five open enrollment OUT applications for the 2025-26 school year. The board also approved authorizing the District Administrator to approve applications for open enrollment into the District on behalf of the Board, effective immediately. Such approvals shall be reported to the Board of Education at the next regular meeting for ratification and record keeping.
The Richland School Board also approved waiving the policy for School Events on Wednesdays, Sundays, and holidays to allow the Strengthening Families program to meet after 7 p.m. during their 2025-26 school. The program will be held Wednesday evenings during the six-week program.
Richland School District Administrator reminded everyone that the District’s Annual meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school IMC. He invites everyone to attend to make your voice be heard.
