RICHLAND CENTER, WIS (WRCO ENTERTAINMENT) – Time to belly up to the table, it’s COOKING WITH HANK!

Hog Wash Soup

(A stew so simple even a raccoon with a drinking problem could make it)

Ingredients:

  • 1 can beans (or 3 if you’re feeling rebellious)
  • 1 can tomatoes (or whatever’s red and squishy in the pantry)
  • 1 potato, cubed—or skip it if you’re too lazy to wrestle a potato
  • Leftover meat scraps (bonus points for mystery meat)
  • Water, or beer, or swamp juice… whatever floats your boat

Instructions:

  1. Dump everything in a pot like you’re tossing a treasure chest into a river. Don’t cut neatly—nature doesn’t care, and neither do we.
  2. Pour in liquid until it’s suspiciously soupy. If stuff floats, that’s just extra flavor and adventure.
  3. Bring to a boil. Stir occasionally unless you’re busy napping in your rocking chair.
  4. Boil until potatoes are soft-ish, or until your dog looks at you funny—whichever comes first.
  5. Sprinkle in salt, pepper, and a generous pinch of sass. Don’t be shy.
  6. Serve hot. Eat with a spoon, or just cup your hands and slurp like a true hillbilly hero.
  7. Optional: Tell anyone nearby that this is an “authentic family recipe” passed down by your grandpappy who wrestled a hog for it.
