POTOSI TOWNSHIP, Wis. (WRCO / WRCE) – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office reports on Saturday, Sept. 20 at approximately 6:42 a.m., they received a report of a motorcycle crash that occurred on County Highway U, near the intersection with South Boice Creek Road, in Potosi Township.
Upon receiving the report, Potosi Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene, along with deputies from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. When the deputies arrived on scene, it was determined Ronald Walsh, 64 of Horicon, was traveling west on County Highway U on his 2004 Harley Davidson.
The weather conditions at the time were rainy with fog. For unknown reasons, Walsh’s motorcycle drove off the north side of the roadway, causing the motorcycle to crash into the ditch and become airborne. Walsh was ejected from the motorcycle.
Walsh was not wearing a helmet and due to injuries sustained in the crash was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grant County Coroner. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Grant County Coroner’s Office, Potosi Fire Department, Potosi EMS, and Bennett’s Towing of Lancaster.
This was Grant County’s seventh motor vehicle fatality of 2025.
