Civic Media Welcomes Isabela Nieto

Civic Media and WXCO 98.9 FM are excited to welcome Isabela Nieto as our newest reporter in Wausau, adding depth to Civic Media’s growing statewide newsroom and emphasis on local communities. 

She’ll be based in our downtown studios, right next to the umbrella canopy. Just look for the sign that reads “Bull Falls Radio.” 

Nieto joins us from Springfield, Illinois, where she covered state and local government for WBEZ Chicago. She previously reported for WUIS/NPR Illinois and WCBU Peoria Public Radio, building a strong background in both broadcast and digital journalism.

“I’m excited to get to know a new community and give our listeners what they’re looking for from their local radio station,” says Nieto.

Nieto recently joined Holmes on the WXCO morning program to outline more of her reporting philosophy.
