MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WAUK) – People who still need assistance cleaning up can get some help Saturday.

The American Red Cross and several community partners will host a Multi-Agency Resource Center on Saturday, Aug. 6 to help people affected by last month’s flooding in Milwaukee and southeast Wisconsin.

The center will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mary Ryan Boys & Girls Club, 3000 N. Sherman Blvd. It will offer one-stop access to a wide range of services, including financial assistance, food and health benefits, insurance guidance, and mental health and spiritual care.

Agencies expected to attend include Wisconsin BadgerCare Plus, FoodShare, the state Office of Insurance, Milwaukee County DHHS, the Salvation Army, and others.

People are asked to bring proof of address. The Red Cross said financial help is also available for people whose homes were destroyed or severely damaged, and those who believe they qualify can go online or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Alderman Lamont Westmoreland said the center will provide an important hub for people still recovering from the damage. “We know residents are still in need of resources in the aftermath of the historic flooding.”

Nonprofit organizations can also apply for recovery grants of up to $15,000 through the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha Counties.
