Man involved in Dugan trial pleads guilty to reentering U.S. following deportation

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CIVIC MEDIA) – The man at the center of controversy involving Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan pleaded guilty Thursday to coming back into the U.S. after being deported.

Eduardo Flores-Ruiz faces federal sentencing on Oct. 29. He’s still awaiting trial in state court for a March domestic violence case involving the alleged assault of his roommate and his girlfriend. The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office says it still wants to take that case to trial.

Judge Dugan is accused of helping Flores-Ruiz evade federal agents trying to arrest him at the Milwaukee courthouse. Federal prosecutors say she directed the agents away from the courtroom and helped him leave through a restricted door. She has pleaded not guilty and faces a federal trial in December.
