GRANT COUNTY, Wis. (WRCO / WRCE) – Three were injured when a tractor failed to yield when crossing the highway.

On Monday, Sept. 1 at 3:55 p.m., the Grant County Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a crash at the intersection of Highway 151 and Old Highway Road., in Paris Township. Emergency Responders were dispatched to the scene, along with a Sheriff’s Deputy.

When the deputy arrived, he learned John Weber, 75 of rural Cuba City, Wis., attempted to cross Highway 151 in his tractor that was pulling a flatbed trailer. At the same time, Angel Watkins, 37 of Lancaster, Wis., was traveling northbound on Highway 151 with her two children. When Weber attempted to cross the highway, he failed to yield the right of way to Watkins.

Watkins attempted to avoid a collision and applied her breaks, but her vehicle ended up striking the trailer Weber was pulling with his tractor. Angel Watkins and her two children were transported to Southwest Health Center in Platteville for treatment of suspected minor injuries. John Weber was uninjured.

Weber was issued three citations for Failure to Yield – Causing Injury.
