VIROQUA, Wis (WRCO / WRCE / WLCX) – UPDATE FROM THE VERNON COUNTY SHERIFF’S PFFICE – (08-18-25, 7:45 PM): Nathan Gossman has been arrested. He is being held in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center, Rochester, MN awaiting extradition. The Sheriff’s Office and Viroqua Police will be seeking formal charges through Vernon County District Attorney Angela Palmer-Fisher. A charge is merely an accusation. Gossman is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The investigations are active and ongoing.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Department continues to search for a suspect who fled from Viroqua Police Department officers on Friday, August 15 following a high-speed chase.

Nathan Randall Gossman of Canton, MN, led Viroqua Officers on a high-speed pursuit which continued until the suspect vehicle left the roadway near Retreat.

Saturday morning, August 16, deputies were investigating the theft of a dump truck at the town of Wheatland, in Redmound, rural De Soto which linked Nathan Gossman to the theft. Sheriff Roy Torgerson has announced the stolen truck has been located in Rochester, MN. However, Nathan Gossman is still at large.
