FENNIMORE, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – Southwest Wisconsin Technical College is celebrating a major honor — being named the #1 two-year college in the nation.

Southwest Tech has received the 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the highest award a community college can earn. A free, family-friendly celebration is planned for Saturday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the main campus in Fennimore. No registration is needed, and everyone is welcome.

The day will feature hands-on demonstrations from academic programs, campus tours, giveaways, food trucks, and live music.

The Aspen Prize is awarded every two years to one college in the country for outstanding student learning, completion rates, equity, and post-college success.
