SAUK COUNTY, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – A Sauk County woman is dead after a deer, hit by another vehicle, crashed through her windshield in the town of Greenfield.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on Highway 33 near Highway X in the Town of Greenfield around 8:30 PM Wednesday evening.

The 29-year-old woman, the lone occupant in the vehicle, was traveling westbound on Highway 33 when a deer was struck by another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The deer crashed through her windshield and entered her vehicle.

The woman’s car left the roadway and struck a house. No one in that house was injured.

The name of the woman who was killed is being withheld, pending notification of family.

Authorities report she is a Baraboo area resident.
