Over 30,000 Wisconsin high school students received offers from state schools through admission program

WISCONSIN (CIVIC MEDIA) – More high school seniors are being automatically admitted to the Universities of Wisconsin.

According to a press release, nearly 34,000 seniors from nearly 470 schools received admission offers through the Direct Admit Wisconsin program. The second year of the program saw over 150 more schools and over 9,000 more students participate compared to 2024. The program automatically admits qualified high school students from schools that participate in the program to up to 10 Wisconsin universities without having to submit an application.

“Finding the right UW could not be easier for high school seniors,” says Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman. “Direct Admit Wisconsin lets students and parents know they have a home at the Universities of Wisconsin.”

Students who decide to participate in the program are evaluated based on their grades and coursework after the completion of their junior year. Students must meet all admission requirements, enroll for their senior year, and stay on track to graduate.

The Universities of Wisconsin-Madison, Eau Claire and La Crosse are not included in the program; however, students enrolled in the program can still apply. For more information on Direct Admit Wisconsin, visit the Universities of Wisconsin website.
