Friday, August 1

Walk with GRACE teams who have calendar raffle tickets they are not selling are asked to turn them ASAP. There are a number of teams in need of tickets and there are none left at the GRACE Office. If you have tickets you are not using, please call the GRACE Office at 608-604-8255. Arrangements can be made to pick them up from you and deliver them to teams in need. Tickets can also be dropped off to Calendar Raffle committee chair, Jo Ann Krulatz at the WRCO Studios.

During the month of August the Ocooch Mountain Humane Society will be participating in Clear the Shelters, an event hosted by NBC to help get shelter pets into loving homes.

A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held Friday, August 1, from 11:30a to 5:30p at Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green. Appointments are preferred by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or go online to redcrossblood.org.

Richland County Senior Dining Meal sites are open to the public for in-person dining. The Woodman Senior Center will serve meals Monday through Friday at 11:45a. Home delivered meals are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Call Tina or Sandi at 608-647-2323. The Germantown Senior Dining Meal Site, located at St. Anthony’s School (32497 County Highway V, Cazenovia) is open Wednesdays with serving at 11:15a. Home delivered meals are available for delivery Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. To reserve a meal call Rita at 608-983-2798. The Rockbridge Meal Site at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (25500 Rockbridge School Street, Richland Center) is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with serving at 11:30a. To reserve a meal, call Norma Pyfferoen at 608-647-3900 or 608-649-3269. All reservations must be made by 1:00p the day prior. The suggested contribution for those age 60 and older is $4.00.

The Richland Hospital and Clinics will host a free Club Scrub for students in 6th through 9th grades. Club Scrub gives children a chance to explore health care careers alongside professionals. This free class will be held Wednesday, August 27, from 3:0p0 to 6:30p. Registration is due Friday, August 1. Space is limited. Break bread with community members at a free community meal each Friday at 5:30p at the Other Door in Viroqua, Vernon County’s Drop In Center.

Performances of Community Players Little Shop of Horrors are scheduled for Friday through Sunday, August 1, 2 and 3, at the Richland Center High School Auditorium. Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7:00p with Sunday shows at 2:00p. Tickets will be available at the door and are $15 for Adults, $10 for children under 18 and $50 for a Family Package of two adults and any number of children. Tickets can also be ordered online at Eventbrite.com and search for Little Shop of Horrors Richland Center Wisconsin. The show is not recommended for smaller children.

Enjoy a night of Euchre every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:30p at the Mick Memorial Park Community Building in Hub City.

The Richland Center High School Homecoming Parade will be here before you know it. Parade entry forms are available at the Richland Center Community Center, the Richland Center High School and District Offices, the Richland Observer, and WRCO. Saturday, August 2

The Highland Historical Society will be holding a Farmer’s Market Saturday’s, through October, from 8:00a until 11:00a at the Old High School building in Highland. Produce, and various other items, will be available for purchase.

Caz, Cars and Coffee is held the first Saturday of each month from 8:00a until 11:00a on East Main Street in Downtown Cazenovia. Casual meet inviting vehicles of all types and condition. Free coffee provided with a small farmer’s market running as well. Food truck will be on site for June’s event.

The Viroqua Farmers Market will be held each Saturday through October from 8:00a to12:30p.

A free Jakes & Jennys Youth Outdoor Day will be held Saturday, August 2, from 10:00a to 2:00p at the Richland Center Archery Club. Registration will be held from 9:30a to 10:00a with lunch at Noon. Equipment will be provided.

Celebration the art and culture of Wisconsin’s First People, as part of an ongoing partnership between Little Eagle Arts Foundation (LEAF) of Wisconsin Dells and Taliesin Preservation. The Native Art Marketplace will be held Saturday, August 2, from 10:00a to 4:00p at the Hillside School at Taliesin with LEAF roster artists who will have a wide range of both traditional and modern crafts and artistry available for sale, including paintings, jewelry, black ash baskets, and quill and beadwork. To allow entry to as many guests as possible, entrance times are staggered. Pre-registration is highly encouraged at taliesinpreservation.org/events. Admission to those who have not pre-registered is not guaranteed.

Rock & Roll Reunion 2025 will be held Saturday, August 2, beginning at 11:00a in Woodman. The day includes over 30 artists. There is no cover charge and food and soft drinks will be available on the grounds. T-shirts will be available for sale. Proceeds from the day go to local schools special needs programs.

The local scouts will host a Back 2 School Bash Saturday, August 2, from 5:00p to 8:00p at Starlite 14 Drive-In. Climb to new heights on the rock climbing wall. Launch your own water bottle rocket sky-high. Enjoy fun games and activities for the whole family, and stick around for movies under the stars and concessions. Scouts will be admitted free. Scouts can also camp overnight.

Join internationally published travel and architectural photographer Andrew Pielage Saturday, August 2, from 6:00p to 9:00p at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin to learn the basics of sunset photography hands-on. The evening begins with a welcome reception and instruction, and then participants will be able to explore, taking interior and exterior photos. This class is open to guests of all levels and experiences. Phone cameras welcome.

Knights of Columbus Council 3492 will be hosting bingo on Saturday, August 2, starting at 6:30p at the Richland Center Community Center. The progressive blackout jackpot will be $3,840 + 50% of net sales in 58 calls or less.


Sunday, August 3

The Beulah Wesleyan Church will be celebrating 100 years on Sunday, August 3. All are welcome to attend the 100 year Anniversary Celebration. The service will start at 10:00, with a meal to follow, and an afternoon service will begin at 1:30p. The morning service will be a regular church service with the focus of looking ahead to the next 100 years. The afternoon service will be a time of reflection, singing, and sharing memories of the past 100 years.

The Boaz Lions Club invites you to tour the Mastedon Building the first Sunday of each month now through September. The building will be open Sunday afternoons from 1:00p to 3:00p. There will also be a food stand.

Kickapoo Cowboy Church is held at 6:00p on the first Sunday of the month, April through December, at the Old Oak Inn in Soldiers Grove.
