WINGVILLE (Grant County), Wis – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon (June 11).

At approximately 12:45p, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a crash in the Township of Wingville, on Highway 80 near the intersection of Ebenezer Road. When Deputies arrived on scene, they learned Rex Wepking, 69 of Highland, was driving south on Highway 80 when he slowed for two deer crossing the road in front of him. At that time, Cheryll King, 65 of Livingston, was also traveling southbound on Highway 80 when she came upon Wepking. King observed that Wepking had slowed for the deer but misjudged his speed and her truck collided with the rear end of Wepking’s vehicle. Cheryll King was transported to Upland Hills Health Center by Montfort EMS for suspected injuries from the crash. Rex Wepking was uninjured.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, Montfort Fire Department, Montfort EMS, Livingston Fire Department, and Livingston First Responders.
