The season came to an end for the Ithaca softball team in the WIAA State Semi-Final game. Belmont advanced to the Division 5 championship game with an 11-0 (5 inning) win over the Bulldogs. The Braves scored 3 runs in the first, 2 in the second, and 6 in the 4th inning to build a lead they would not give up.Ithaca had 2 hits on the day.

They came in the 2nd inning when Kelsea Coleman and Kailey Newkirk both singled. The Bulldogs failed to score. It was a great run through the post season for the Lady Bulldogs as they captured WIAA Regional and Sectional championships before falling in the state game.

This years recently graduated seniors, Kailey Newkirk, Araianna Louis, Alyssa Mueller, and Holly King all played in the their final high school games. The Bulldogs final season record is 21-6. Jacey Maxwell pitched the first 3 1/3 innings and Arianna Louis worked the final 2/3 of inning for Ithaca.

Kalli Hodgson was the winning pitcher for Belmont as she struck out one, and gave up 2 hits. Carsyn Ramaker walked one and struck out 3 in the 5th inning. Leadoff batter Addison McNett singled, doubled, and walked scoring all 3 times at the top of the Braves batting order.

The Braves will play in the championship game Saturday morning at 8 against Almond-Bancroft which defeated Thorp 18-3 in the other Division 5 semi final game on Thursday.
