Mineral Point man killed in ATV accident

MINERAL POINT, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) Z The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office has reported a fatal ATV accident that occurred Friday afternoon.

At 3:06 p.m. dispatch received a 911 call about an ATV rollover on County Line Road in the Town of Waldwick.

Dennis McCarville, 77, of Mineral Point, was operating a four-wheeler on a steep hillside while spraying weeds when the vehicle overturned and landed on top of him.

Emergency responders from the Hollandale Fire Department, Hollandale First Responders, Mineral Point EMS, Blanchardville Fire/EMS, and Green County EMS arrived at the scene shortly after the call.Despite life-saving efforts, McCarville was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iowa County Coroner.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is leading the ongoing investigation into the crash.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Saether Funeral Home, in accordance with the family’s wishes.
