RICHLAND CENTER, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – The Richland Center softball team improved to 4-5 on the season with a 15-0 (3 inning) win over visiting Mauston. The Friday night game was played at North Park after a rainy cool day. Freshman pitcher Kyree Fisher worked 3 innings of no hit softball. She struck out 5 on the way to the win. Carly Meiden and Chloe Darling both scored 2 runs. Mattie McGlynn, Jasmine Hazelrig, and Regan Schoepp all had rbis for the Hornets. Dani Knutson suffered the pitching loss for the Golden Eagles.

Several players from the 1996 state runner up softball team were present and honored between the JV and Varsity games. A good crowd gathered to honor the past Hornets and to support the current teams.

Following the 15-0 win, Richland Center will prepare to return to conference action with a game on Tuesday night at home against Platteville.

Mauston is now 0-10 to start the season. They will play Wisconsin Dells on Tuesday.
