D.A.R. “Good Citizens” announced
The D.A.R. "Good Citizen Program" is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship.
RICHLAND CENTER, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – Every year the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) “Good Citizen” program and scholarship contest is held, and awards are given to student recipients chosen from area schools.
The D.A.R. “Good Citizen” program is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The students selected at each school must have an outstanding degree of the following qualities: Leadership, Patriotism, Service and Dependability.
This years recipients from local school districts include: Tatum Fotun – Lafarge, Brooke Mitchell – Wauzeka, Katherine Tarrell – Highland, BreeAnn Kohlenberg Iowa-Grant, Kathleen Waterfall – Richland Center, Tristen Peterson – Ithaca, Brandon Miess – Riverdale, Samuel Miller – Kickapoo, and Gabriel Harmann – Seneca.
The essay winner for this year was also announced. Samuel Miller from Kickapoo was the winner. He has some big plans for his future.
Sam’s winning essay was forwarded to the State Good Citizen Award contest.

Adam Hess has been involved in radio broadcasting since 1990, with many of those years spent on the air at WRCO FM in Richland Center. Currently, Adam hosts the Weekend Wake-up and Prime Mover Saturdays on WRCO FM, jumps in and helps out with news duties, handles Social Media duties for WRCO and WRCE, and is the Director of Technology at a Southwest Wisconsin School District.
