GALENA, Ill (WRCO / WRCE) – The Richland Center Lady Hornet Soccer Team made the trek to Galena, IL Friday night for their first conference matchup of the season and fell 2-0 in a very physical game on the Galena pitch.

The Hornets defense led by Brynn Anderson, Ella Stadler, Wren Wilson, Sylvia Schmidt and Moriah O’Bday kept the scoring to a minimum with their offsides traps and stellar hustle to clear the ball away from the attacking forwards. Keeper Lilly Tydrich recorded 11 saves.

The Hornets were able to get some shots on goal but just couldn’t connect with the back of the net.

Coach Fink is proud of the team on how:

they handled this physical game with the upmost respect – Coach Fink

The Hornets next action is their home opener Tuesday, as the Hornets host River Valley.
