The River Valley girls basketball team attacked the Richland Center girls from long range on Thursday night on the way to a 71-37 win. The Blackhawks were led on Senior night by Senior Lexi DeViney who made 8 three pointers.  The team made a total of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Hornets kept it close until the latter part of the first half and DeViney capped off the first 18 minutes with a just past half court banked in buzzer beater to make the score 36-22 at halftime.

Richland Center was led in scoring by Kylie Burns with 10, Carly Mieden added 8, Jasmine Hazlerig scored 6, Regan Schoepp added 5, Jaycee Gander had 4, and Libby Ruhland had 2 points.  The Hornets made one three pointer and went 6 for 11 from the line.

Lexy DeViney’s 26 led the Blackhawks scoring, Karina Osborn had 14, Ella Myers had 10, Bella DeViney had 8, Elizabeth Gostomski totaled 5, Heidi Hegland aded 4, Kalia Blakely had 3 points, Mckenzie Woodhouse scored 2.  The Hawks made 13 threes, and went 5 for 12 from the line.

River Valley won the jv game 39-21 over Richland Center.

The Blackhawk Varsity finished the regular season at 12-12 and 4-6 in the league.  They will open the WIAA girls basketball tournament at home on Tuesday night against Dodgeville.  Richland Center is now 2-22, and 0-10.  They will travel to Brodhead for the post season on Tuesday.

In other Southwest Conference girls games,  Lancaster beat Dodgeville 65-38 and Prairie du Chien was a 53-48 winner against Platteville.  That means that Prairie tied the Hillmen for a co-conference championship this season. Both teams ended league play at 9-1.
