GREEN BAY, WI- (WGBW) – As the Wisconsin Legislature begins its new session, incumbents, new Senators, and new Assembly members will get their committee assignments.

Senate Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) announced the committee assignments for members of the Senate Democratic Caucus last week. Incoming Senators from Northeast Wisconsin, Kristin Dassler-Alfheim (D-Appleton) and Jamie Wall (D-Green Bay) received their assignments.

Dassler-Alfheim represents the 18th Senate District in Wisconsin. She will serve on the following committees:

  • Senate Committee on Financial Institutions & Sporting Heritage
  • Senate Committee on Insurance, Housing, Rural Issues, And Forestry
  • Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority Board

Wall represents the 30th Senate District. He will serve on the following committees

  • Senate Committee on Insurance, Housing, Rural Issues, and Forestry
  • Joint Legislative Council
  • Joint Committee on Information Policy & Technology

The Wisconsin Legislature convenes today (Monday, January 6, 2025) with the narrowest Republican majority in over 10 years. With new legislative maps, more Democrats were elected to the legislature.
