RACINE, Wis. (WRJN) — Final, unofficial results show businessman Ralph Malicki being elected as the new Racine County Executive in a special election held Thursday, securing a decisive victory over County Clerk Wendy Christensen.

Malicki garnered 8,930 votes, while Christensen received 2,727 votes. The election was called to fill the vacancy left by the unexpected death of former County Executive Jonathan Delagrave in June 2024.

Malicki, known for his community involvement, previously owned and operated the former Piggly Wiggly grocery store on Washington Avenue in Mount Pleasant.

The special election follows a four-way primary held on November 21, where Malicki and Christensen emerged as the top two candidates.
