Riverdale won a non-conference girls basketball game against Richland Center last night 49-42.  The Chieftains led 19-15 at halftime.  The Hornets kept it close throughout.  The game was last tied at 31 before Riverdale hit some key shots and free throws to improve to 5-1.  With the loss, Richland Center is now winless through 7 games.

The Chieftains were paced by Macy McCay with 19 points, Kennedy Couey scored 13 (including two three pointers), and Zuri Dennis totaled 10.  Lily Barr and Allie Goplin each had 2, and Bailey Harris, Mallory Meiss, and Ava Kratzenberg each had 1 point. Riverdale went 22 for 37 from the free throw line.

Richland Center was paced by Carly Mieden with 17 (including 4 of the teams 6 three point baskets),  Ella Weiss added 11, Kylie Burns scored 6, Jaycee Gander 5, and Addie Board had a three point basket.  The Hornets were 5 for 15 from the free throw line.

Riverdale won the JV game 37-32 over Richland Center in the early game at the Richland Center High School field house.

Riverdale will return to conference play after Tuesday nights 49-42 win.  They will host Mineral Point on Thursday.  Richland Center will host Lancaster in SWC action also on Thursday.
