MILWAUKEE, Wis (Civic Media) – First Lady Jill Biden, the first Italian-American to hold the position, will speak at the opening ceremonies of Milwaukee’s Festa Italiana on Friday.

The Italian Community Center of Milwaukee says Biden is scheduled to deliver remarks around 6 p.m. at the Aurora Pavilion in Henry W. Maier Festival Park. The annual festival celebrating Italian food, music and culture runs through Sunday.

It will be Biden’s third visit to Wisconsin this year after earlier stops in Green Bay and Waukesha, where she emphasized Democratic priorities like abortion rights and health care access. President Joe Biden’s team has made 11 trips to Wisconsin so far in 2024.

Festa Italiana, now in its 45th year, offers Italian music, food and cultural activities through Sunday night.
